Version 1 of Aric Bills

Updated 2003-08-09 18:57:42

I was introduced to Tcl/Tk at BYU [L1 ] in 2001 in a class on speech technology. I have also programmed some in BASIC, Pascal, C, Java, and Visual Basic, but IMHO Tcl is by far the funnest programming language I've used.

I received a BA in linguistics with a minor in language and computers. Among other things, I learned that "funnest" is a word--in my idiolect, anyway (read up on descriptive grammar [L2 ] if you're interested). Tcl is a great language for linguists.

I work at the University of Washington [L3 ] where I help process brain imaging data.

My wiki comments will generally be identified by aricb.

My first name is not pronounced the same as "Eric" -- the A sounds like the A in "car".

I hope to get some good input from Tk pros on writing readable, manageable, reusable Tk. Please throw in your two cents.
