I was introduced to Tcl/Tk at BYU [http://www.byu.edu] in 2001 in a class on speech technology. I studied linguistics and language and computers. Tcl is an excellent language for linguistics, especially because it is so well internationalized. I work at the University of Washington [http://www.washington.edu] where I help process brain imaging (MRI) data. Tcl does a good job for many tasks in brain imaging, especially data visualization. My wiki comments will generally be identified by [aricb]. My first name is not pronounced the same as "Eric" -- the A sounds like the A in "car".
