Bad Thing:   an occurance that has no (some might qualify and say "easily seen") positive benefits.

In general, you might hear someone say that it is a '''bad thing''' to
mix [Tcl] [list]- and [string]-oriented commands against variables - unless the developer knows what they are doing, they
end up generating an error or at the very least unexpected and unwanted results.

When using [Tk], the common response to a '''bad thing''' is [Don't do that].
