Most recently I worked for mVerify (http://www.mVerify.com) doing GUI development for software used to test mobile devices. The company had to lay everyone off in March, 2008 so I now find myself looking for employment in or near Chicago. I was originally introduced to [Tcl] when I was hired to rewrite all of a company's [GUI]s which were written in Tcl. This was circa 1995. The company was ''Healthcare Communications'' which made the Cloverleaf integration engine. It used Tcl/Tk for the product GUIs and used Tcl as the scripting component of the product. Except for a one year stint doing (''ouch'') [Java] ('''ouch!''') and a short stint at C++ (ouch ''ouch'' '''ouch!''') I've been doing Tcl scripting ever since, mostly client side. Prior to discovering Tcl I did a lot of work with FORTRAN and C. I've written a couple of free widgets ([combobox] and [mclistbox]), an almost-widget ([supertext] -- a text widget with unlimited undo ala emacs) and contributed to the [tkdiff] project. I also started a wizard widget but haven't found the time to bring it out of beta status. I have been a frequent contributor to comp.lang.tcl under the email address ''oakley''@''bardo.clearlight.com''. In my spare time I'm working on a personal information manager / personal wiki -type application, partially for my own use. It is a test bed for me to get familiar with the [tile] widget set and [sqlite], and serves as a place for me to experiment with some slightly novel user interface ideas. http://www.tclscripting.com/edgenotes2/index.html my free software is available at my home page: http://purl.org/net/oakley/ . at gmail.com ---- On Feb 20, 2006, Bryan announced the presence of http://www.tclscripting.com/ - "News and articles on software development with Tcl/Tk" ---- %| [Category Person] | [Category Home Page] |%
