[schlenk] The category list of members to this category grows, i think it is too long. 
How about factoring it into two sections:

   * Porting (Tcl) : Things useful for cross version porting
   * Porting (OS) : Things for cross OS porting

Please suggest better names...

The neat thing about categories on the wiki is that if you think of a better
way to organize, you are free to implement it, to your own, and others',
benefit...  and in this case, no code development is necessary.
