DOM is the '''D'''ocument '''O'''bject '''M'''odel [http://www.w3.org/DOM/] specified by the W3C as a representation of and manipulation interface to XML documents. Implementations in the Tcl world are Jochen Loewer's [tDOM] and [Steve Ball]'s [TclDOM]. According to Steve Ball [tDOM] is not completely compliant with the W3C standard. Still, [tDOM] is by far the faster of the two. tDOM doesn't implement all of [DOM Level 2]. tDOM users all seem to agree that this is a non-issue for them. Also, Jochen has plans to round out the implementation during 2001.
