i am trying to create data analysis application (in the area of molecular spectroscopy) eventually i'll have to write a lot of (not speed critical) logical/mathematical code that would be way too much work in C. python is great for that kind of thing however the most popular python gui kits are based on tcl/tk so some knowledge of tcl/tk is handy.
