Expect inherits some FMMs 
[http://phaseit.net/claird/comp.lang.tcl/fmm.html] from [Tcl], of course.
Expect is widely misunderstood, though--for instance, 
"[Most programmers don't know what Expect can do for them]"--and it's easy to identify several
faults which are both specific to and characteristic of Expect.  "[Don't Expect to sleep]" is 
an example.
