[Google]'s [https://summerofcode.withgoogle.com/%|%Summer Of Code] (GSoC) ''is a global, online program focused on bringing new contributors into open source software development.''

This page here is the main entry point to the Tcl Community's pages organizing its participation in the program, from our applications to the program as organization, to the various pages with project ideas. The communities liaison to Google is the [Tcl Association].

**GSOC 2022**

The application process for mentoring organizations is open, deadline is Feb 21 [https://developers.google.com/open-source/gsoc/timeline].

According to the Google Open Source Blog [https://opensource.googleblog.com/2021/11/expanding-google-summer-of-code-in-2022.html], contributors no longer need to be students, anyone new to open source programming may apply.

Also, there is a new option for half-time projects as well as full-time.  Organizations may apply to extend a project's life from 12 up to 24 weeks.
