Version 6 of Hell

A very hot place, managed by the Devil. That's where very bad people go when they die. It is often said that some programmers/entrepreneurs actually come from this place, but nothing has been really proven yet.

In the context of Tcl, it refers to something very annoying like Quoting Hell, Exec Hell or any other references to Hell yet to be made up by frustrated users. Hell can be inflicted on the user by their own inability, general misinformation, idiosyncrasies of the language or just a very prosaic bug.

Programming Hell can easily drive a programmer out of their minds, and that's no lie.

The infliction of cruelty with a good conscience is a delight to moralists -- that is why they invented hell. (Bertrand Russell)

Hmmm, I always associated hell with Perl, Java and C++. But some people love pain and call those heaven, or at least purgatory (depending on how you were brought up). Tcl is nearly perfect - just wish it was faster in some areas...(e.g., canvas) (David Bigelow)
