I first met tcl/tk through programming a user interface with the Tk extension in Perl. In one textbook its origin as a part of Tcl/Tk was mentioned and I went off to find its roots. Just like every human language has its pros and cons so has computer languages. I have learned to like Tcl/Tk as a easy way to write simple graphical interfaces as you only need the wish executable installed.
