Purpose: to discuss this great looking interface, provide tips on using the toolkit, and hopefully deal objectively with the current Tix cultural twists. [Ioi Lam] originally created Tix. His major technical concern appears to be enhancement of Tix's functionality. His code is at http://tixlibrary.sf.net/ . [Mike Clarkson] maintains what seems to be a fork at http://tix.sourceforge.net . It's possible that his focus is portability and fault correction. A third version of Tix was available at http://pages.infinit.net/cclients/files/tix-resource.html . ---- [Python] appears to be bundling Tix along with [Tkinter] as part of recent releases (since 2.1?). This makes possible such projects as the Tixapps catalogue [http://tix.sourceforge.net/Tixapps/] of programs, including Tixinspect, which work as either Tcl or Python applications. [Perl]/Tk builds in a Tix interface; notice, for example, [http://www-unix.mcs.anl.gov/~olson/pTk/HList.htm]. ---- [Category Package]
