Scale-widgets are used for numeric input.
They work somewhat similar to sliders.
They don't cause text to scroll, 
but they adjust numbers by moving the button of the slider.

[Schnexel]   ''Linear'' numeric input (e.g. 1-100) it looks.  For logarithmic input (e.g. 0.001-100.0) it looks I need to roll my own, and the scale widget is not very helpful (rollable). Classic.
