NEM: This book makes a nice companion to BOOK Artificial Intelligence: A Modern Approach (AIMA), covering some topics left out of AIMA (such as Nilsson's own work on Teleo-Reactive programs [L2 ]) while leaving others to the more comprehensive book. The book follows an evolutionary path of successively more complex Intelligent Agents illustrating techniques as it goes. One novel aspect is that learning methods are examined within each chapter rather than being a separate section. While less of a comprehensive reference than AIMA, this book tells a more coherent and integrated story, showing how different techniques can be combined.
