AMB: I have noticed that the links for the man pages of all the built-in Tcl commands are broken. For example, http://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TclCmd/expr.htm redirects to "http://man/tcl/TclCmd/expr.html ", which does not work. I tested it on Edge and Chrome.

I think of a lost/left "./" (or so) in front of the internal links to the pages due to changed domain/server hosting or wiki-script. Who is responsible and can change it centrally?
TR - 2025-07-16 How do you reach that URL? Just clicking the way through to the documentation on www.tcl-lang.org will always go to either https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl9.0/ or https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl8.6/ but I do not see a link where there is no version number in the URL as in your example.

You may search in our wiki "man/tcl/TclCmd" (with the quotes for exact search) and get a list of pages with such references from 2010 to today.
Clicking on a listed page on such an link unfortunately brings error messages in the browser.
Because no changes was done on the pages since years, there is some change through the switch to the new wiki domain or in the wiki code itself.

I did a search through the wiki and updated all the broken links to the man pages. There were not too many, thankfully.

Hi AMB, thanks for doing the first changes from "tcl.tk" to "tcl-lang.org". Unfortunately it seems to be the fact that most links end in ".htm" but must end in extension ".html" (with an small "L"), because the actual referenced pages ein in this. This is the fact for references to man/tcl8.7, man/tcl9.0 and man/tcl without version number (showing actual the latest 9.0 by an internal forward, I think). I'll do this on some rechecking...
As long as there exist an HTTP-forwarding (tcl.tk -> tcl-lang.org) and scheme-change (http -> https) and the referenced files have the wrong extension, it could be resolved by a rule in the underlaying forward script, or server configuration. Is there any admin to do this? There are so much links (not only for Tcl but Tk too; about 200 are listed on exact search for "tk/man/tcl", and plus about 173 on "tk/man/tcl8"; each including the quotes) and I may oversee some!
Additionally there are cases where the "l" at the end is left for links with corrected scheme and/or domain name...
Finally I found that some link names have changed, e.g. from "contents.htm" to "index.html".

It seems that my proposal to rewrite the wiki-pages by server-rules from "tcl.tk/man/tcl" to "tcl-lang.org/man/tcl" including scheme is done from an administrator.
Many thanks for that!
There are some cases where the rules do not fit completely. These are pages like https://wiki.tcl-lang.org/page/ttk%3A%3Aframe which link to https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TkCmd/ttk_frame.htm , rewritten to https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TkCmd/ttk_frame.htm (not working). But need to link to https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TkCmd/ttk_frame.html which is rewritten to https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TkCmd/ttk_frame.html
It is difficult to encounter the destination's extension with or without "l"! May be we can look inside the source folder of the different man versions (from 8.3 up to 9.0)?
Is it a possible solution to rewrite afterwards from ".htm" to ".html" if the page otherwise raises an error page?
Because of rewriting it is now more difficult for me to find all the remaining wrong links. Please left a note here on any change or hint. Thanks a lot!

I went through and fixed a bunch of broken links to the Tcl Man pages, using the search term "https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TclCmd/ ". I replaced that part with "https://www.tcl-lang.org/man/tcl/TclCmd/ " and changed the ".htm" extensions to ".html" (and changed "contents.htm" to "index.html").
I thought I had gotten all of them before, but I must have been searching for the wrong key term before. There are certainly still some broken links out there, but I fixed around a hundred of them in this pass.
