Lots of great stuff on the newsgroup this week, including a ton of Q&A and lots of followup on earlier threads we've reported on here. The items here are just a few of the new highlights.
- Scriptics releases Tcl/Tk 8.0.4, and TclPro 1.1 (see [L2 ]) (see [L3 ])
- If you're in a hurry to upgrade, watch out for some weirdness with package index files, as reported by Larry Virden (thread [L4 ])
- Frederic Bonnet releases tclLex 1.1a1, an interesting Tcl-oriented take on lexer's such as lex and flex (see [L5 ])
- Samy Zafrany updates his slick TkPaint tool to version 1.5 (see [L6 ]) Along similar lines is a recently announced presentation tool and slide widget by Rildo Pragana (see [L7 ])
- Guido van Rossum (yes, you're reading Tcl-URL!) and others chime in on the "Smaller Tcl" thread to suggest opportunities for sharing some core library facilities across scripting languages (see [L8 ])
- Cameron Laird pointed out an MSDN article talking about portability issues between Win32 and X (see [L9 ])
