The most important thread in c.l.t. this week has been about defining a standard library for Tcl. This is a great project ideally suited to community involvement. Put in your two cents now about conventions for the library, and then plan on contributing a module.

  • TclPro 1.2 goes final (see [L2 ])
  • Bryan Oakley spurs a grassroots effort to provide an "official" standard library for Tcl (thread [L3 ])
  • Here's a way to see if a disk is available in a drive without getting the Windows "abort, retry, cancel" errors (see [L4 ])
  • Yes Virginia, there are still people using Tcl/Tk on the Macintosh (thanks again Jim!!!) (thread [L5 ])
  • Paul Duffin demonstrates the big impact of Tcl_Obj'ifying arrays on performance. (see [L6 ])
  • Be sure to take a look at the online Tcl/Tk Journal, and provide some suggestions or contribute an article (see [L7 ])
  • Neatware releases the Tcl Extension Wizard (XWizard) for generating interface code for loadable extensions (see [L8 ])
