Sydney For many reasons.
1. Speed. it seems to me TCK-TK is programmed directly from C and this is why it is so fast. Other programming languages like the terrible C# seem to be coded from the 15th level of C and this is why they are so slow and why they produce so many error messages.
2. Limitless contents. It seems to me it can handle 400 pages of text.
3. It rarely crashes. To make sure it never does, install a Back-up procedure. I will post the code today on the wiki.
4. It can perform works of art visually. Amazing stuff!
5. No problems with UF8 or UF9 or UFO's :-). It reads French accents without a problem.
6. A group of excellent programmers update the code core regularly.
7. Chatbot GPT can help you out in coding simple stuff in TCL-TK
8. A lot of ready to go procedures exist on the wiki (Preferences, Find and Replace etc.).
All in all, if you like C but find it weak for its GUI, switch to TCL-TK. It's the best move you could ever make. It is C to which you add excellent GUI capabilities.
