gilTclcanvas

gilTclCanvas [L1 ] was an old (2006) french project from LIG (Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble) aimed to replace tk canvas for drawing and interacting with graphical items on the screen. It works pretty much the same, but has three main differences:

- the rendering was done with OpenGL, thus it is hardware accelerated on most computers.

- there was only two item types: text and polygons.

- items had advanced rendering capabilities: transparency, textures, arbitrary planar deformations.

gilTclCanvas were documented in a technical report [L2 ].

A video (.mp4,76 mb) shows some of the possibilities offered by the gilTclCanvas [L3 ]
