host_info

Tcl delivers the name of the host a script is running on through the info hostname command.

The TclX package has a host_info command.

host_info option host

Returns the information specified by option about the given host. The following options are supported for option:

addresses

Return the list of IP addresses for host.

official_name

Return the official name of host.

aliases

Return the list of aliases for host. (Note that these are IP number aliases, not DNS CNAME aliases.)
