wntbackup.tcl [L1 ] is an interface to the Microsoft Windows Backup Utility (ntbackup.exe that comes with some versions of Microsoft Windows[L2 ]). It can be used to back up data to a file or to a stand-alone tape library (tape drive). The backups created using wntbackup.tcl can be restored with ntbackup.exe.
wntbackup.tcl simplifies reporting (the backup log can be sent via e-mail) and management of backup files created in backup jobs that are scheduled to run regularly.
