Version 6 of Jabber

Updated 2002-10-25 14:15:29

See http://www.jabber.org/ for detailed information about what Jabber is about. The basic idea however is that Jabber is bridging software - a definition of a client that can talk ICQ, AIM, IRC and other instant messaging protocols.

There are at least two attempts at a Tcl Jabber client:

 What: Coccinella

Description: Tcl/Tk whiteboard, shared desktop, text chat with images, MP3, etc.
supporting plugins and compatible with Jabber.
Uses GPL licensing. Should run on most
Linux, MacOS, Windows, and other platforms with appropriate
        Tcl/Tk extensions ported.
        Currently at version 0.94.1 .

Jacob Levy 10/24/2002 Neither of the Tcl Jabber URLs work. - RS: The Sourceforge link works for me... Someone elided the nonworking Tcl Jabber URL, so the Jacob Levy comment makes less sense as time passed -- escargo 10/25/2002
