Author of safe Tcl, a system for secure execution of scripts, later folded into the Tcl core as part of the work on interpreter hierarchies (slave interpreters, see interp).
Marshall's done much else besides. He wrote early SNMP- and MIME-handling software in Tcl.

Currently Marshall is focusing all his efforts on convincing his friend Mike that he (Mike) really is a very attractive man. Those who know Mike would be surprised at this because it's analogous to needing to convince Bill Gates that he's rich. However, Mike seems to need to be told what is obvious to everyone else.
