I was introduced to Tcl/Tk at BYU [L1 ] in 2001 in a class on speech technology. I studied linguistics and language and computers. Tcl is an excellent language for linguistics, especially because it is so well internationalized.
I work at the University of Washington [L2 ] where I help process brain imaging (MRI) data. Tcl does a good job for many tasks in brain imaging, especially data visualization.
My wiki comments will generally be identified by aricb.
My first name is not pronounced the same as "Eric" -- the A sounds like the A in "car".
