Updated 2004-02-03 13:19:23

Purpose: To document availability of printed resources relating either to teaching or using Tcl. While FAQs are not appropriate for this page, references to books available only in electronic format are appropriate here. Add comments at the end if there is some discussion regarding whether something should be considered a book.

See What non-Tcl specific books do developers find they reference or recommend? for a page to read and write about books which do not really touch directly on Tcl.

LV Is anyone aware of additional books, in either paper or electronic format, that deal with learning Tcl and Tk?

Purchasing
The major book sellers on line, such as Amazon.com [L2 ], Barnes & Noble, etc. sell the above titles that are in print. Other smaller sites, such as http://fatbrain.com/ and so forth carry many of these and offer significant discounts. Sites like http://www.half.com/ (or its parent http://www.ebay.com/ ) , Yahoo, etc. often have links to used book dealers, auctioning resources, etc. which also can be sources for books.

VL 14 jun 2003: I might mention http://www.addall.com/used/ here, searching many used bookstores online, then there is the different associations for used books dealers, depending on your location and interest there are many many more to mention.

Lending
Just a reminder that you might find local public or university libraries carrying some of the above as well.
